"One thing I certainly need to accomplish in 2012 is managing my stress better because I know it is not good for my overall health. I need to learn to take one moment at a time and not get overwhelmed with all the little things"
From Friday's contest for a holiday box full of goodies (2 winners) - What are your tips for staying frugal during the holidays?

I don't believe in spending more than we have. Now for my daughter, I would break the bank, but we're going to be wise, affordable gifts only.
Christmas is not just about presents, it about telling, and showing people around us that we love them. We don't have to always do that with money.

I have a set limit of shopping and now that I have 2 children that budget has to stay within that range.
Thank you so much! I'm so excited! First time ever winning a contest, yay!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Divas. Great contest. Congratulations. I agree with all the tips and love Neka's idea of family games. However I disagree with ignoring the adults and only celebrating the kids with gifts at Christmas. Although I know you celebrate the adults' birthdays, I still think Christmas can be a season for all ages. I know budgets are tight in this economy, yet I think it's great to acknowledge your adult friends at Christmas too.
ReplyDeleteA cute idea is to get an inexpensive box of candy cans or tins (you can even get some cute ones at the dollar store). There are about 15 in each box for a dollar. The candy canes in these boxes are individually wrapped so you can give at least 15 different friends a small token of affection at Christmas and save money.
A candy cane topped with a nice bow brings a smile to the adults' face every time, and you can still give the kids toys. Just another idea. Have a great Friday everyone.
Pamela Kay, that is a super cute idea! I must admit - I usually don't get anything for my relatives that have kids, but I'm going to do this at our Christmas dinner!
