I learned a long time ago that your attitude determines so much in life. Having a positive attitude despite what's going in is hard to do, however it seems to make things just a little more tolerable. Having a great support system helps out tons. Someone you can call on to just vent, cry, yell, whatever it takes to release it all. Not everyone has that, I know.
Divas With A Purpose has become a source of inspiration and motivation. It's about women being driven, inspiring, victorious and having a plan of action to become the best them they have been called to be. With collaboration, we are making our way through this thing called life as women, mothers, sisters, and friends.

Thankful Thursday: Week 13
Happy Thursday Divas!!! We've made it...whew!!! That's a huge sigh of relief I'm breathing right there. This past week has been one big ol' roller coaster of emotions and issues it seems - from personal to work to business. I'm still standing and I'm thankful for the experiences because from them I'm learning and growing as a person. My eyes have been opened to some situations and to some people in my lives. I'm a true believer in the thought process that people come into our lives for a reason, season or a lifetime. There are some whose seasons have passed. I'm learning to let go and let God handle the whos, whats, whens, whys and hows. By releasing somethings, I'm seeing that new opportunities and people are coming into my life that are going to be able to take me to the next level. Accepting it and keeping it moving!

Paying It Forward
Yesterday, TC Galltin shared a very touching guest post here on Divas With A Purpose. Her words meant so much to me because I can see the purpose and mission of Divas With A Purpose coming to fruition. When the vision for DWP came to me, I envisioned women supporting, motivating, inspiring and pushing one another to the greatness we're all destined for in our individual talents.
I've watched the struggles that TC has had via our blogs, Twitter and Facebook. Throughout it all, she's been determined to get the story of Zaire's Place out. Zaire's Place is a safe-haven for battered women. As you read this novel, you grow with the characters, you cry for them, get angry with and for them, celebrate with them and truly became attached to them. Charlene, Aisha and Rebecca are still in the thoughts and prayers. Not the characters - but the women that they represent. One in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.
I announced on one of my social media forums that I would be giving away 3 copies of Zaire's Place. Not soon after I made that announcement, I was contacted by a domestic violence survivor that would like to match that giveaway. Divas With A Purpose, Incorporated will be giving away 6 digital copies of Zaire's Place!!! Two winners will be from this blog, two from Twitter and two from Facebook fans.

Guest Post: The Diva Circle
Happy Tuesday Divas :)
Today for Divas With A Purpose Tuesday, we have a guest post by one of my favorite diva bloggers. She sent this post to me yesterday and it literally brought tears to my eyes. T.C. is no stranger to Divas With A Purpose. We highlighted her Domestic Violence Project last summer where she was compiling six word essays to bring awareness to domestic violence. She's a newly published author of Zaire's Place (which I highly recommend). She's created characters that you become invested in and I can't wait for the next segment to learn what happened in these ladies' lives (hint, hint TC!).
Many thanks to TC for the kind words that you're about to read....in my opinion, she truly epitomizes what DIVA stands for (Driven, Inspired, Victorious, and Action-based) and I'm honored to call her my friend. In her words.....

Money Monday: Toxic Friends

The importance of having a budget and being committed to it is evident when reading this article. If you're aware of what you have available to spend and committed to sticking to your allocated budget then you won't be as easily swayed by the pressure from friends to spend above or outside your means.

Togetherness
"A family in harmony will
prosper in everything"
A friend posted this Chinese proverb on his Facebook timeline this morning and it's been speaking volumes to me today. I'm involved in quite a few projects this year and at times it can be overwhelming and I'll be the first to admit that I can have my "moments". The projects that are the most successful and prosperous at this time are the ones where the people involved all work together for the common good the best. We have our disagreements from time-to-time but we're able to discuss things civilly, respect each others points of view and even re-evaluate our perspectives when necessary. This is vital to any group or organization that's attempting to accomplish anything.
