SOCS: Trust

stream of consciousness Sunday
Today's Writing Prompt:

Where are you lacking trust in your life?

Trust has always been one of my hot buttons. I'm easy to give it but it's hard to restore if ever betrayed.  I've had relatives whom I've grown up with that have done numerous things to cause me to doubt their words and actions. It sucks because these are people that I genuinely care about.  However, things have gotten to the point where it is so strained between us that I've had to call an unofficial time-out.  No phone calls, texts, FB blocks, the works.  I've come to realize that for my peace of mind, it's best that way.  When you love and care about someone, your judgement is often biased.  Things that shouldn't be swept under the rug are.  Conversations that should be had - aren't.  You turn a blind eye to unacceptable behavior because you don't want to rock the boat.  All of these actions slowly erode the foundation of trust that has been built up over the years.  You find yourself wondering how do you fix things and wishing for the carefree days of your younger days....unfortunately the hands of time can't be turned back.

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post hosted by all.things.fadra.  It is 5 minutes of your time and a brain dump.  If you'd like to try it...here are the rules:

~Set a timer and write for 5 minutes
~Write an intro if you'd like but don't edit the post. No spellchecking. No proofreading. Just raw writing.
~Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. Your back door to your blog, if you'd like, but make it accessible.
~Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post
~Link up your post at all.things.fadra
~Visit your fellow bloggers and show them some love
