Seriously, I was going through my lists and realized that I'd never taken the time to really answer the questions that I pose to women each week. Divas With A Purpose is like my 5th child and I truly appreciate everyone that takes the time to stop by each day to share and grow with each other.

Family info
Married since August 2006 to my wonderful, former-military husband. Mommy to 4: my bonus daughter who is 11 lives with her mom in Louisiana and my 2 boys (ages 10 and almost 4) and my youngest daughter (almost 4 months) live in South Carolina with us.
What is your passion and how do you use that passion to better your family and community? Why do you do what you do?
I’m a giver by nature. I love to help others by giving back and being there in whatever capacity I’m needed and able to provide. I’m teaching my children that it truly is better to give than to receive. The overflow blessings that I’ve received over the past year are a direct result of being willing to help others when I am able to without expecting anything in return. I believe that wholeheartedly. There were some wonderful people that helped me in past with no questions asked and without any expectations of being repaid or publicly recognized. Their actions spoke volumes to me and I truly believe in paying it forward whenever and however I can.
Who inspires you?
My mother, hands down. Once I became a mother and wife, I realized just how many sacrifices my mother has made for her children. No matter what is going on, she keeps a positive outlook and is a powerful, prayer warrior. At almost 60 years old, she is often mistaken for my older sister and is in better shape than I am at half her age!!!
Anyone that thrives despite adversity. It takes a very special person to keep pressing on and remain joyful during hard times.

DIVA - Driven, Inspired, Victorious and Action-oriented!
What projects are you currently undertaking? Future plans you want to share?
What aren’t I up to, these days??? I’m still working on setting up 501c3 status for my non-profit, Divas With A Purpose. (Anyone that can help me out or has contacts please let me know!!!). My goal is to have it fully functioning by the end of 2012 / early 2013.
I’m in the process of revamping my Mary Kay business and adding some other aspects under the umbrella Dorinda’s Diva Shoppe to include custom-made charm bracelets and some other fun items that are still in the works.
I’m working with growing and expanding the community-based sorority I’m a part of – Sigma Beta Xi, Incorporated. An awesome group of women that are committed to the needs of women and children. I never thought I’d be involved with any type of Greek organization because it just wasn’t something that moved me. However, from the first time I stumbled across the vision and foundation of this organization, I was hooked and absolutely love it. Being able to work with established organizations that embrace us and our vision is truly inspiring and motivating.
