Ever had one of those moments that seemed to be a life-changer or shifter? An event in your life you can pinpoint as the moment your life's direction shifted courses? If you'd made just one different move or decision, it would have totally altered where you're at right now?
It seems like I have a few of those moments in my life. A question I often here people ask is "what would you change in your life". Honestly, I wouldn't change a thing. Not saying that I'm in that perfect place and my course has been all sunshine and berries. Far, far, far from it. However, I am who I am because of what I've experienced. I've made some stupid choices but the results have shaped my personality and life.
I learned early in life to never have regrets and focus on what could have been or should have been. We can't change the past and pondering over it won't make a difference either.
What can we do?
~ Focus on what you have the power to change and correct. DO IT! Don't procrastinate. Don't make excuses. Just take ownership and responsibility for what needs to be done. This will make you feel better and show others your true character.
~ Take responsibility. Don't play the blame game. That's un-diva like and only frustrates others.
~ Forgive yourself. Don't berate yourself continuously. Don't hold it over your head. You're human - realize that and grow from it.
~ Focus on the future. How will you take the lessons learned and apply them to your daily walk? What positives can you take from this experience?
Don't let it deter you from your goal. Hold your head high, keep pressing forward and let this be a part of your success story.

Great advice Michelle...well worth keeping and putting them into practice. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteExcellent advice, more people need to live like that.
ReplyDeleteGreat advice. It doesn't help anyone to wonder "what if" all the time. Just acknowledge what you did in your past that you wish you hadn't, accept it, and move on. :)

such wise advice. I really struggle some days with all the "what if's" . I really have to remind myself, "no what ifs!" only focus on what you can change and then act on those and let go of the things you can't. These are great tips for leading a very happy life.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great reminder that we should focus on the things that we can change and not worry about the other stuff. Great advice!
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for a good quote, love it! thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI've had moments like that but it's hard for me not to think about them and think how things might have been different. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my life, just curious! =)
